We’re thrilled to have been working with a new friend this year to pull of Milwaukee Day/Month. Rachel Fell probably knows more about this city than Andy, Brent, and Timm put together. You’ll see plenty more by way of events in the coming days, and many of them are just for having Fell in the fold. Doing this!
This year, a once in a century occurrence takes place. It’s 2014. Meaning the fourth month of the fourteenth year is 4/14… for THIRTY DAYS. Check the events schedule to find out what’s happening as we celebrate the greatest area code in the world for an entire month – but especially on April 14th.
Thanks to Historic Milwaukee, Inc, and everyone who came out for the Third Ward, Brady Street, and Downtown tours. We actually had to stop taking reservations due to the response. Here are a few of the folks that got to learn a lot about our fair city today. Thanks to all involved. And note that Historic Milwaukee runs these tours and more all year long!
Well, it’s only 1PM, and already we’ve been to the top of City Hall, we’ve cleaned up Washington Park, and we’re just kicking off three sold out tours of the city with Historic Milwaukee, Inc.. And we’re just getting started. Here’s co-founder of MKEDAY, Andy Silverman, and one of our great volunteers. Thanks, everyone for what’s already been an incredible day. Let’s keep doing this.
Jim was picked at random from a list of more than 100 entries for the chance to ring in Milwaukee Day in City Hall’s historic bell tower! Here he is being interviewed by Tom Murray of Today’s TMJ4. Thanks to everyone who came out! See you all later today!
Free and amazing, taking us back to ’86. Celebrate some overlooked MKE artists from the past few decades, and let us know which ones you love.
